There will be a BUTTON HERE for you to enter your email address and register.
Please DO NOT MARK THIS EMAIL AS SPAM.
Zoom / Luma links will be posted to the ‘Rising Tide Drawing Sessions’ newsletter (here on Substack and delivered to your email) each Wednesday before the Art Play Date (CHECK THE DATES FOR THE ZOOM LINKS).
In the newsletter, I will let you know what we will be working on that week & list suggested materials (but you can use any material you like).
Please note, this is not a teaching class, although I will give tips and share my process, Classes, Workshops & Private Tuition can be purchased separately.
Update your Zoom App an hour before joining the meeting.
Bring your own Art supplies, cuppa & snacks. Pets are welcome too.
Set up your space and materials before the Zoom time (tell other members in your home that this is your creative time and you will talk to them after the Zoom).
Each Art Play Date you will join a waiting room when you first arrive. When admitted, you will be on mute, please feel free to unmute yourself.
There is no pressure for you to have your mic or camera on - although it is a lovely way to connect with everyone else.
If you’re a bit shy at first, you can always have your camera showing your art process (webcams are very good for this).
When you enter the Zoom, change your view to Gallery view so you can see everyone (top right corner on a desktop).
What else happens on an Art Date?
- There will be lots of positive encouragement & support for each other.
- Links to interesting things such as reference images, Pinterest folders, Online art shops, inspiring artists etc. will be provided (in the replay blog post).
- Occasional bonus PDF downloadables such as colouring in sheets, planners, etc. will also be in the replay blog posts.
- We will have an optional sharing session at the end where we get to share what we have been working on (this is the best part).
What do I need to know about Art Dates?
Always check the website (blog posts here) as well as your email. Occasionally I post only to the web so I am not cluttering email inboxes.
Remember that each session will be recorded.
During recording time, Conversations and questions relating to Art topics are encouraged. You can find out more about this here.
Where to share your work:
If you share your work on social media, please use the hashtag #samashleyartclub and tag @samashleyart on Instagram
Join & share your work in the ‘Studio Diaries’ subscriber only DISCORD
The ‘Studio Diaries’ now has a private Discord server, for subscribers to the ‘Studio Diaries’ here on Substack.
After each Zoom Art Play Date (‘Open Studio’ or ‘Art Club’), we meet in the ‘Studio Lounge’ voice channel on Discord for the after party.
The ‘Studio Lounge’ is like being on Zoom, but it’s not recorded.
We chat, continue making art, connect with other artists, support each other and share our work (amongst lots of other fun things).
Clicking this button will take you to the private subscriber only chat. The link to the private Discord server can only be seen by subscribers to the Studio Diaries
